Edengrove is a Christian church based in the market town of Ballynahinch, Northern Ireland. We currently have around 260 families or 600 individuals associated with our church and have maintained a witness in the area since 1774. Today we are very much looking to the future and want passionately to shine for Christ in our growing town. We are blessed with modern halls, organisations for all age groups and a growing ministry team - yet none of this defines us. Simply put, we are a people unashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ - He is the Rock on which we build.
Edengrove exists to glorify God through the worship of our lives. In plain English this means that we seek to bring glory to God when playing golf or driving the kids to school. We want to be 24/7 Christians whose lives can be summed up by the phrase "Soli Deo Gloria" - "To God alone the glory".
Edengrove is a Presbyterian church and is part of the wider Presbyterian Church in Ireland. The Bible is our supreme authority or in simple terms, we try as best we can to follow and do what it says. We also have what are known as subordinate standards, these are the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Westminster Larger and Shorter Catechisms. These in no way rival the Bible in authority but they sum up what we believe the Bible says. All Elders within the Presbyterian church sign the Confession before taking leadership.
