At Edengrove we realise that apart from Christ we can do nothing. Over the past several years we have tried to introduce several new prayer initatives with our desire being that every Christian associated with our church will be involved in our prayer life in some fashion. We don't expect everyone to attend everything but we do expect Christians to pray. Also at Edengrove many members feel confident enough to pray aloud but this is not expected of everyone who attends.
Our Sunday Morning prayer meeting begins with a reading from the Bible before several prayer points are discussed and bathed in prayer.
The Engine Room is an informal time of prayer lasting for appoximately one hour although we encourage people to come when they can and leave when they must.
The Care Prayer group meets together once a month to pray confidentially for people made known to us through our prayer chain.
Every Saturday monring sees the Elders come together to spend time praying for the spiritual concerns of our church.
As a church we run several prayer triplets which meet at times arranged by the particular group. Triplets can meet as often as they like wherever they like and whenever they like but we ask all triplets to spend time praying for each other and the witness of our church.
The Prayer 365 initiative began in 2010 and is perhaps the most simple of our prayer events. Participants simply add their initials to a prayer calender and remember to pray for our church on that particular day. We therefore have a member of Edengrove praying for Edengrove on every day of the year. In a nutshell...pick a day, promise to pray.
As you enter the church complex follow the signs for the Minister's room and here you will find a room set aside for quiet prayer and reflection. The Quiet Room is open whenever the church is open and can be used by anyone visiting Edengrove.
